Thino On-The-Go Charger and Portable Battery for Android And iOS

Saturday, January 23, 2016

A new On The Go (OTG) wearable charging cable for smartphones, called Thino, is a portable charger, battery back-up, and data transfer all in one compact, durable and lightweight aluminium body!

Thino has a dual side USB connector and is able to detect and switch between different USB charging methods such as charging downstream port (CDP), dedicated charging port (DCP) and standard downstream port (SDP). Thino is able to supply any Android and iOS device with the maximum current it can draw from the source. The built-in 480mAh Lithium Polymer battery can be used as a portable back-up battery to keep your device up and running for 2 hours.
The built-in battery is charged from the current not used to directly charge the smartphone battery. What this means is that if, for example, the smartphone can be charged with 1.5A and the charging source is able to supply a total of 2.1A, the remaining 0.6A will be used to charge the internal battery.
You can use Thino with different input sources like wall adapters and car batteries without having to worry about current and input voltage as Thino comes with power path and dynamic power management as well as other safety features such as over-charge and over-discharge protection; and short circuit protection. Thino automatically adjusts and avoids over-loading from the input source and once the system voltage falls below the battery voltage, Thino will automatically start discharging the battery so that the system is supported from both the input source and battery.

Thino's power path management regulates the system slightly above battery voltage but does not drop below 3.5V minimum system voltage, which means Thino maintains operation even when the built-in battery is completely depleted or removed. Thino is available on pre-order on Viglo
