Alcatel A5 LED Back Lights Up In Time To Music!

Thursday, October 12, 2017

The Alcatel A5 LED is a smartphone with a back case that lights up via a mobile phone app called, Light Show, which allows you to customize the back case LEDs to flash when you play music or flash when receiving an incoming call.
The LED back case has a carbon fiber design to it so it looks super sleak even when the LEDs are not flashing.

The Light Show app is the bit of software that makes the LEDs inside the back case come to live. The app comes with several light themes that you can choose from, including meteors shower, fireworks, rain and fire.
The A5 LED flashing back case comes as an accessory with the phone so you also get a standard back case in brushed black finish to replace it with.
On the front of the Alcatel A5 LED you get a 5.2-inch full HD display with a capacitive 720 x 1280 pixels touchscreen. The screen display is multi touch so you can click on it with up to five of your fingers. If you need more fingers, the Alcatel 3V is multitouch up to 10 fingers.

The Alcatel A5 LED mobile phone has a 5 megapixel selfie camera with flash and an 8 megapixel back camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and dual tone LED flash.
The volume control rocker and power button are both located on the right side of the phone towards the top of it. Buttons are precisely responsive and tactile. The Home, Back and App buttons are all capacitive touch buttons so they're not physical buttons per say but very responsive nevertheless.
The micro USB port is located on the bottom of the phone, right on the center of the phone with the speaker grill holes on either side.

The back camera features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama and can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second.
Video quality can also be lowered down to 720p, 480p and 144p
The A5 LED's camera is pretty responsive and has a simple interface with three modes: PANO (panoramic), PHOTO and VIDEO. Screen brightness and zoom is adjusted by touching down the screen display.
Camera settings include time-lapse, picture size and anti-shake. You can also change the functionality of the volume button to function as a capture button or zoom button.
The A5 LED smartphone measures 146 mm tall, 72.1 mm wide and 7.7 mm thick. The A5 LED weighs 170 grams and that is with the Li-Ion 2800 mAh battery, which is non-removable, just like in the IDOL 4 smartphone.
The Alcatel A5 LED model you see in the pictures is the 5085Y, which comes with a single nano SIM slot, a micro SD card (which supports up to 32 GB), and 16 GB of internal storage with 2 GB of memory RAM.
The Alcatel A5 LED 5085Y model also features software interpolation, which intelligently increases the megapixel size of both cameras. This means, the 8 megapixel camera is interpolated to 13 megapixels while the 5 megapixel front camera is interpolated to 8 megapixels. While interpolation does not quite achieve native camera resolution, the enlargement of the images is still good quality.
Another cool app you get with the A5 LED phone is ColorCatcher, which is a cool application that allows you to capture the color of any object to use as a home screen background theme.
As far as performance, the A5 LED phone runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system and it's powered by a Mediatek MT6753 chipset and Octa-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53. The graphics processing unit is Mali-T720MP3.
Built-in the A5 LED is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot and Bluetooth 4.2, as well as NFC, Android Beam and Turbo download, which combines both WiFi and 4G/3G for super fast network speed.
The home screen of the A5 LED can be customized with two launchers: Simple Mode and Joy Launcher.

Other accessories you get with the Alcatel A5 LED smartphone include earphones with microphone, USB wall adapter and micro USB charging cable. Check out the review of the Alcatel 3X 2020 smartphone.
