Kospet Tank T1 Review Smartwatch For Tracking Workouts

Thursday, August 18, 2022

Kospet's new smartwatch shares the same name as the legendary Light Tank T1 "Cunningham" - the United States first modern tank with a fully rotating turret!
The Kospet Tank T1 smartwatch is equipped with a touch screen and two physical buttons on the right side of the watch for power on/off and return back a screen.
On the back of the Tank T1 smartwatch, there are two metal gold plated contacts (for charging) via the included magnetic charging cable. Being magnetic, it is a lot more convenient than plugging in a cable and more durable since there is no USB port for water or dust to get into.

Like most smartwatches, the Kospet Tank T1 integrates heart rate monitoring, using a combination of green LED lights and a photoelectric sensor (light‑sensitive photodiode) to measure the blood flow along the wrist to calculate the heart rate.
The backside of the watch is completely flat; hence no bump from the optical sensor which is a pro and a con. With a rear bump, it raises the back of the watch above the wrist, which makes the wrist less sweaty. The advantage of having a flat watch backside is fit. It is not as breathable but, it allows the watch to sit more snug and secure on the wrist.

On the front of the Kospet Tank T1 smartwatch, there is a 1.32-inch size TFT IPS screen with 360 x 360 pixel resolution - same as the Samsung Galaxy Watch. Inside the watch, there is a Realtek 8762dk chip and 350mAh rechargeable battery that takes 2 hours to fully charge. Battery life is 13 days with heart rate monitor turned ON and 100% brightness.

From the Tank T1 smartwatch, you can check battery level, change watch faces, turn off vibration or change vibration intensity (low or high), adjust screen time (e.g. 5 seconds, 10 seconds up to 20 seconds) and choose from 20 sports modes. The Kospet Tank T1 works alongside the Fit Cloud Pro mobile app which you can download for free.

The app works well and doesn't require an account registration. From the app, you can enable/disable settings such as drink reminder, sedentary reminder, push notifications, alarms, weather reports and raise to wake. With push notifications, you can select which app (e.g. whatsapp, facebook, snapchat, etc) you want to receive notifications from.
One of the most useful features you get with the Tank T1 is "Find" mode, which helps you find the watch or your phone when misplaced. Via the Fit Cloud Pro app, you can make the watch make a noise to find it. From the watch, you can do the same, to make the app, make a noise to help you find your phone.

The included rubber straps come with a metal buckle and perforations to increase ventilation on the wrist. The Tank T1 watch band weighs 21 grams and uses 22mm spring bars. The Tank T1 watch body is made of metal (bezel) and plastic and weighs 43 grams. Total combined weight is 64 grams with the strap.
