Annke Tivona Review FHSS Non-Wifi Baby Monitor With Screen

Monday, March 27, 2023

The Annke Tivona is a nifty baby monitoring camera solution that comes with its own display screen and connects via FHSS wireless, which means you can hook up the Tivona FHSS baby monitor to a portable power bank and use it anywhere - even in a car - making the Tivona baby monitor more versatile than a regular Wifi security camera.

Unlike Wifi baby monitor, which must be connected to a Wifi router, the Tivona FHSS baby monitor creates its own wireless hotspot, which also has the added benefit of making the video signal harder to intercept by a hacker. Because the Tivona camera uses FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum), it is a non-Wifi camera, making it easier and quicker to setup and connect. It takes just 5 seconds to power up and become operational so, you can start watching right away.

Because there is no setup involved it is perfect for non-computer savvy people. The Tivona camera requires wired power, which can come via mains electricity or portable powerbank. The display monitor has a battery built-in, which takes 2.5 hours to charge (via 10W charger) and can provide a battery life of 10 hours.

The Tivona FHSS baby camera and monitor display screen outer shell are made of glossy plastic, including the built-in kickstand and antenna on the back of the display screen, which has a clicky mechanism that lets you adjust the antenna in three positions: 0 degree (horizontal), 45 degree and 90 degree (vertical) angle. The kickstand opens up 45 degrees.

The Tivona baby camera has a ball turret gunner design with a moveable 720p camera capable of tilting up and down, as well as rotating around on its axis. On the rear of the Tivona camera, there is a built-in speaker, an adjustable wireless antenna (9cm long) and flexible boom temperature sensor (7cm long). The antenna can be adjusted up and down at different angles, as well as swivel around on its axis.Dimensions of Tivona camera are 10cm high x 9cm deep x 7cm diameter. the weight is 186 grams.

The Tivona baby monitor display features 6 physical buttons built-in, including a 4 button d-pad for remotely controlling the pan/tilt movement. The monitor display measures 15.5cm long x 8cm wide x 2cm thick. The screen display is a 4.5 inch display (10.5cm horizontally x 6.5cm vertically). The monitor display weighs 216 grams.

As well as watching in real time, you can speak, thanks to two way audio (intercom communication), which lets you speak and listen in real time directly through the camera. The built-in speaker is also designed to play soothing ambient sounds, which are built-in.
