Aukey DS-E6 USB Type C PCI Expansion Card With SATA Port

Monday, December 05, 2016

More and more consumer gadgets will be using the USB-C (USB Type-C) standard so it makes sense to jump on the USB-C bandwagon if you haven't done so already!
USB-C is essentially a fusion of Lightning and Thunderbolt technology combining the same connector on both sides that allows the connector to be plugged either way.
If your computer doesn't already have Type-C ports, there is an easy way of adding Type C connectivity to your computer in less than 2 minutes by using a solution such as Aukey's DS-E6 USB Type C PCI expansion card.

Aukey's USB Type C PCI expansion card uses USB 3.0 speeds and fits into the PCI-Express expansion slot of your computer (installation is a breeze).

After the Type C expansion card is slotted in, simply boot up your computer and insert the CD that came in the box to install the drivers. Make sure your computer's operating system is either Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Linux for compatibility.

I simply took apart the side lid and removed the expansion slot cover plate.
Then, it's a simple case of slotting in Aukey's PCI-express expansion card, which fits perfectly and snugly.
