Beldray BEL0690 Quick Vac Lite 600W Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Hard to believe that vacuum cleaners have been around since the early 1900's! It is even harder to believe that the first suction-powered vacuum cleaner (called Puffing Billy) was powered by gasoline and drawn by horse!
Comparing the 2000kg Puffing Billy to today's suction-powered cordless and corded vacuum cleaners like the Beldray BEL0581v2 and Beldray BEL0690 which only weigh 2kg, there is literally no comparison. The weight reduction is quite remarkable, not to say anything about practicality!

Modern vacuum cleaners are really practical, specially a handheld vacuum cleaner type like the corded Beldray Quick Vac Lite which weighs only a couple of kilograms compared to a canister vacuum cleaner or an upright vacuum cleaner which easily weigh over 8 kilograms.
Unless you like hauling around an 8 kilogram machine, a handheld vacuum cleaner like the Beldray  Quick Vac Lite with detachable handheld bits is ideal for cleaning edges and corners of floors and ceilings.
Because of its low weight, this Beldray vacuum cleaner is also great for running over hardwood floors saving you the job of sweeping.
Talking about size, the Beldray BEL0690 Quick Vac Lite measures 30cm long, 22cm wide and 11.5cm high so you can easily put it away anywhere in your house taking up minimal space.
The Beldray BEL0690 vacuum comes with crevice and brush tools so you can vacuum corners sofas and small spaces like under the car seat.
As far as energy efficiency, the Beldray BEL0690 stacks up well with modern low energy gadgets as it's Class A energy rated so it only consumes 25.7 kilowatt hours per year which is extremely low considering a 100-watt bulb consumes 216 kilowatt hours per year!

Another plus you get with handheld vacuum cleaners is bagless. The Beldray BEL0690 does not use vacuum cleaner bags. Instead, you get a large 600 ml tank that stores dust and everything else suctioned by the vacuum. Speaking of suction, the suction power is 15.5kPa, which is slightly less than the Beldray BEL0769PURWK 16kPa but much more powerful than the Beldray BEL0581V2 which only has 4kPa of suction power.
When the tank gets filled up, you simply pop the lead open and empty the contents out. It's that simple!
The Beldray BEL0690 comes with a 5 metre long power cable and a telescopic extension tube with adjustable notches that can be extended up to a total length of 100 cm long.
When fully retracted, the telescopic extension tube measures 70cm. The extension tube is a nice addition to the kit as it provided extra height so you won't have to bend as much.
