The UAG Lucent case For iPhone 14 Pro Max is made differently than most UAG phone cases. It is made using the overmolding technique to bond PC (non-transparent hard plastic) and TPU (rubbery material) together. This helps shock absorption without bulking up the case.
The screen bezel is raised to protect against frontal impacts and scratches. The UAG Lucent case For iPhone 14 Pro Max also has a built-in Magsafe magnet to lock the phone onto a Magsafe charger.
The
backside panel of the UAG Lucent case has no hump in the middle but the
backside is not flat due to the raised camera bezel around the
camera, which makes the case rock on a desk. Not a major issue, more of a minor inconvenience when resting the phone on
a desk to write emails.
The Lucent back panel is rubberized with a dotted textured Magsafe ring and glossy black U logo. The side edges (and screen bezel) are also rubberized, while the inside is made of smooth plastic (including the white Magsafe ring).

UAG Outback Case For iPhone 14 Pro Max
The UAG Outback case has an all-around siliconized construction with a "paint splatter" finish. The backside panel of the UAG Outback case
has no hump in the middle but it is not flat due to the raised camera
bezel, which causes the case rock side to side. The outside of the UAG Outback case and inside honeycomb are rubberized
too.
The UAG Outback has slit buttons but they are divided with a slight hump, making them more user friendly and easy to locate without looking. The mute toggle switch opening is wide and easily accessible.
