Soundcore Space One Review ANC Headphones with LDAC

Thursday, November 23, 2023

Meet the Soundcore Space One, a pair of active noise-canceling headphones designed to enhance your audio experience. These headphones come with features like double voice reduction and adaptive noise-canceling technology for effective noise cancellation.

The Space One adaptive noise cancellation feature effectively blocks mid to high-frequency sounds, while the audio quality is superb, thanks to the high passive isolation, which helps increase the bass response. The Space One headphones support AAC, SBC and LDAC for Hi-Res wireless audio.

The stock sound signature is balanced, with slightly emphasis on bass, although you can tweak the sound signature to your liking via the EQ inside the Soundcore app. The volume output is loud, although noticeably louder via wired connection than bluetooth. The app also gives you access to other settings such as HearID for an optimized audio experience tailored to your preferences.

Quick charge functionality is included too, providing 4 hours of playback with just a 5-minute charge in normal mode and 2 hours in ANC mode. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours. The estimated battery life is about 40 hours at 50% volume with ANC on and 50 hours at 50% volume with ANC off. Battery performance is on par with the Life Q30 and Space Q45.

The Space One headphones look and feel like a well made product with a sleak design on par with top tier headphones such as Bose and Sony.

The Space One earcups feature comfy earpads (which are replaceable), as well as slightly padded drivers to minimize rubbing against the ears.  The inner hole measures 6.5cm high x 5cm wide, while the outer measures 9.5cm high x 8.5cm wide.

The Space One headband evenly distributes pressure for comfortable, extended wear. The headband is wrapped with soft PU leather padding, while the earcups feature a yokeless design with a pivoting design which allows the earcups to tilt up/down and sideways. While the design works well, the tilt range of motion is not as wide.

The Soundcore Space One headphones also integrate a plastic folding hinge to fold the earcups inwards, as well as a USB-C charging port, 3.5mm audio port and onboard clicky physical buttons to control audio playback, ANC and calls.

The Soundcore Space One feature 5 levels of adjustable transparency that allows you to fine-tune how much external noise comes into the earcups. Both the transparency mode and active noise cancellation work really good, letting you hear external sounds clearly and blocking the outside world when you want to. The ANC functionality extends to when the headphones are turned off when using the aux-in cable, ensuring continuous noise cancellation in various scenarios.

While the Space One headphones do not support APTX, they support multipoint pairing  and they are compatible with SBC, AAC, and LDAC. The USB-C port is not designed for audio use. However, the headphones offer the flexibility to listen in wired mode with the aux-in cable when the battery is depleted.

In conclusion, the Soundcore Space One Active Noise Cancelling Headphones offer a robust combination of advanced features, impressive battery life, and user-friendly design, making them a suitable choice for those seeking an immersive and hassle-free audio experience.
