Redragon GS520 Anvil RGB Review Gaming Desktop Speakers

Monday, January 18, 2021

The Redragon GS520 Anvil RGB desktop speakers use dual connection (USB-A for power) and 3.5mm for audio) so, they will also work with a smartphone, as long as you can plug the USB-C connection into a power source such as mains electricity or monitor USB passthrough.
As you can see on the picture above, the GS520 Anvil RGB speakers are connected to a smartphone and are powered via the computer monitor display, making it a perfect setup for mobile gaming while sitting at your desk.
The power cord, which integrates the USB-A and 3.5mm connections, measures 1.8 meters long, while the cable that tethers the speakers together measures 70cm long (under a meter long); hence you can position the speakers 70cm apart, which works well for small desktops. While the cable isn't super long, you can separate the speakers long enough to achieve a wide soundstage and natural stereo sound separation.
The GS520 Anvil RGB speakers have a classic 2.0 channel stereo desktop speaker design with tall but compact speaker units, measuring 18cm high, 8.5cm wide and 10cm deep. The GS520 Anvil RGB speakers are easy to setup, simply plug them in, press the power button and you're good to go.
There are three control buttons front facing the right speaker unit and a touch control button on top for changing the led lighting from solid colors (green, red and blue) and two color changing effects.
The control buttons light up but do not change color. Two of those buttons control the volume (up and down), while the other button controls several functions such as powering off the RGB lighting.
The GS520 Anvil RGB speakers are entirely made of hard plastic with a beveled design, metal mesh grilled, an L-shaped RGB strip and a chrome plastic accent Redragon logo, which is glued onto the speaker. The back of the speaker units has a plain matte finish with a recessed groove around it for styling. The base of the speakers has foam padded feet.
The right speaker weighs 390 grams and the left speaker weighs 367 grams. Total weight including the cabling is 758 grams. Each unit houses a 5-watt dynamic speaker driver, which works well at reproducing treble, midrange and bass without muddiness or distortion.
The total RMS output is 10 watts, which is achieved when the GS520 Anvil RGB speakers are connected to a 5V/2A power source. The speakers need a minimum 5V/1A input power. You can buy the GS520 desktop speakers from amazon. Check out these Redragon reviews: Pandora2 H350 headset, Storm M808 mouse and Draconic K530 keyboard.
