Monday, July 17, 2023

Redragon's new Caraxes Pro K644 SE Wireless keyboard is the bigger version of the Draconic K530 PRO SE. Same 61 key layout and tri mode connectivity but with larger keycaps for bigger hands.

In terms of size, the Redragon Caraxes Pro K644 SE Wireless is similar in dimension to the  Castor K631 Pro offering a perfect balance between compact and comfortable usability. The Caraxes Pro K644 SE Wireless is entirely made of plastic, including the bottom case and top plate. Dimensions are 32cm long and 11cm deep. The height of the top row is 3.5cm high (without feet) and the bottom row is 3cm high. With feet risers, the height is 4.5cm. The weight is 676 grams. The keycaps are made of double shot with a concave design.

The Caraxes Pro K644 SE Wireless is compatible with hot-swappable switches (3 pin and 5 pin switches) and comes equipped with stock Redragon red linear switches and extra large keycaps with transparent font. Underneath the top plate, you find north facing leds. On the left side of the Caraxes Pro K644 SE keyboard, you find the USB-C power port and two status led lights. On the bottom, you find rubber feet, two feet risers (rubberized), recessed switch, and 2.4Ghz dongle slot, which is non-magnetic (slots into place via friction)

The Redragon Caraxes Pro K644 SE Wireless keyboard offers multiple connectivity options, including USB-C wired, Bluetooth 3.0/5.0, and 2.4Ghz wireless mode, letting you seamlessly switch between different platforms (e.g. laptop, PC and smartphone). The typing experience is nice but takes getting used to due to the oversize keycaps, which is perfect for chunky fingers. If you plan to use this keyboard for coding, be aware that it doesn't have a numpad or dedicated arrow keys.

As far as RGB effects and lighting performance, you can adjust brightness up/down (FN2+F11/F12), change RGB effects (FN2+F8), turn off/on backlighting (FN2+F10) and customize RGBs (FN2+backspace) directly from the keyboard without the need of software. The Caraxes Pro K644 SE Wireless is equipped with 19 RGB modes, including dynamic multicolored and single colors, as well as a static colors. To remaps keys, access profiles and macro editor, you need to download the Redragon software.

The Redragon Caraxes Pro K644 SE Wireless keyboard is equipped with hot-swappable Redragon mechanical Red Switches with a quiet linear actuation. In terms of battery life, the Redragon Caraxes Pro K644 SE Wireless keyboard charging time is 8 hours. In 2.4Ghz wireless mode, the battery can last up to 115 hours with RGB lights off and 30 hours with RGB lights on. When using Bluetooth mode, the battery life is approximately 20 hours.
